Dickson County Public Library
The Local History & Genealogy Department at the Dickson County Public Library has a large collection of materials, from both Tennessee and other states. Virtually all the county records are available on microfilm, as are back issues of The Dickson Herald and newspapers from surrounding counties. Print materials include Tennessee census indexes, early Tennessee marriage records, Civil War sources, and family histories. Ancestry.com is available for in-library use and Heritage Quest can be accessed remotely with a Dickson County library card.

Dickson County Archives
The Dickson County Archives has the following records: Marriage, Will, Deed, Estate Settlement Books, County Court Minute Books, Chancery and Circuit Court Minutes Books, and Property Tax Books. Available loose records include Marriages, Estate Settlements, County Court, Chancery and Circuit Court, and some births and deaths. The Archives is located at the Courthouse Annex in Charlotte, Tennessee. Linda Parker is the archivist.
